Taro Kurita is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, fitness expert, strength and conditioning coach, and instructor at Tanuki Martial Arts in Toronto. As a highly skilled martial artist and experienced fitness professional, Taro brings a unique combination of technical knowledge, athletic development, and coaching experience to the Danforth and East Toronto community.
A second-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, Taro has dedicated years to developing his skills in grappling, movement, and martial arts. As a Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor, he focuses on helping students build strong fundamentals, improve their technique, and develop the confidence and discipline that come from consistent training.
Outside of martial arts, Taro specializes in strength training, fitness development, and athletic performance. His approach combines practical strength and conditioning principles with martial arts training, helping students improve their physical abilities, movement quality, and overall confidence.
Taro is also the lead instructor for YAA! Toronto (Youth Athletic Advantage), Tanuki Martial Arts’ youth athletic development program. Through YAA!, he helps children develop strength, coordination, athletic skills, confidence, teamwork, and a positive relationship with fitness.
