Siva Kumar is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt and No-Gi BJJ instructor at Tanuki Martial Arts in Toronto. A dedicated martial artist with years of training experience, Siva brings a technical and analytical approach to No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, helping students develop effective grappling skills, strong fundamentals, and confidence on the mats.
Siva developed his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu through extensive training at Toronto No Gi Academy before joining the Tanuki Martial Arts community. He specializes in pressure passing, top control, and maintaining dominant positions, with a focus on creating effective No-Gi grappling systems that allow students to control opponents and finish from strong positions.
Known as a crowd favourite at Tanuki, Siva is recognized for his calm coaching style, technical knowledge, and willingness to help teammates improve. His teaching reflects the core values of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: problem-solving, discipline, consistency, and continuous learning.
Outside of martial arts, Siva has completed his degree in Computer Science at York University, bringing an analytical mindset and attention to detail into both his training and coaching.
